Sarah M Cherry (Shellie), MCD, CCC-SLP, CLC
Sarah Cherry (Shellie) graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Liberal Arts from Auburn University at Montgomery, a Master of Communication Disorders from Auburn University, and received additional training from Nova Southeastern University Autism Consortium in Ft Lauderdale, Florida. She has served children and families as a speech-language pathologist, assistive technology coordinator, diagnostic clinician, and as a classroom language teacher of children with autism. Previous work settings include Montgomery Public Schools, Auburn City Schools, specialized preschools, diagnostic clinics, private practice, as well as patients' homes. Shellie is a certified lactation counselor by The Academy of Lactation Policy and Practice. "As a mother myself, I understand the unique blessings and challenges each family faces in equipping our children to lead happy, independent, and fulfilled lives. I thank God that He has chosen me to be a part of that process for many families through my profession and relationships with the families I serve.” |
Erin Fender, MCD, CCC-SLP
Erin graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Communication Disorder in December 1997 and a Master's of Communication Disorder in August 1999 from Auburn University. With 24 years of practical work experience in the school setting, Erin has worked with clients aged 3 to 21. She began working with Hear My Words in July of 2023. Erin has diagnosed and treated children and adolescents with expressive, receptive, and phonology language delay simulation, motor speech, and fluency disorders. She has also treated clients with hearing impairment and autism. Erin believes in using a team-based approach to improve communication skills by collaborating with families and other professionals. Building strong relationships with families and students allows Erin to create engaging and practical therapy based on student interests and strengths. |
